ABOUT MAPLE GLEN
Our Story
Our Community. Our Story.
Maple Glen Housing Co-operative Inc. has been part of Oshawa since 1988. Our 39 home community is built on co-operation, participation, affordability and respect. Members have a voice in shaping the community we share and work together to make Maple Glen a welcoming place to call home.
Our Beginnings
Maple Glen Housing Co-operative was created during a time when affordable housing was urgently needed in Oshawa. In 1986, a group of individuals and families came together with a vision: to build a community that offered not just housing, but a place where members had a real say in how their community was run.
With support from the Co-operative Housing Federation (now CHF Canada), the site at 777 Wilson Road North was developed, and in 1988, Maple Glen officially opened its doors.
Built on the principles of co-operation and mutual respect, Maple Glen has grown into a stable, welcoming community that continues to honour its founding values.
