About a year and a half ago, Roxanne Clarke took on the management position at Maple Glen Housing Co-Operative. Just one month later, Laura Reid moved into the co-operative with her three children. The two had never met before. Whether it was coincidence or fate, they soon discovered they shared the same vision — to strengthen the Maple Glen community and bring a playground back to its children.

What began as a shared idea quickly became a mission. Laura, who later became Vice President of Maple Glen’s Board of Directors, and Roxanne began reaching out to organizations, exploring funding opportunities and looking for partners who could help make a new playground possible.

Their persistence eventually led them to Chibuzzo at KABOOM!, who became an important part of Maple Glen’s journey. Chibuzzo recognized the community’s vision and helped move it forward by seeking out the partner Maple Glen needed to make the project possible. That missing link was Foresters Financial. Through Chibuzzo’s efforts, Maple Glen was brought together with Foresters Financial and KABOOM!, creating the partnership that would ultimately turn the community’s long-held dream of a new playground into reality.

Today, the new playground represents much more than a new place to play. It represents perseverance, partnership and a bright new chapter for Maple Glen. After nearly a decade without a playground, a new generation of children will once again have a place to gather, build friendships, use their imaginations and create lasting memories.

For Maple Glen, this playground is proof of what can happen when people share a vision, remain determined and work together to create lasting change for their community.
